DESOFACE® + DESOBODY® are the next generation of injectable Deoxycholic Acid ‘fat dissolvers’ in the UK.
What is fat dissolving injection?
The fat dissolving therapy using sodium deoxycholate-based solution. The fat dissolver is injected under the skin directly into the fat layer. The solution will dissolve the fat cells, which then undergo degradation and absorption by the body over several weeks.
DESOFACE® + DESOBODY® are the non surgical alternative to liposuction, using the newest body fat dissolving injection formula available on the market. DESOBODY is the second generation of 'fat dissolvers' designed to treat and reduce localised 'pockets' of fat with permanent results.
DESO Body/Face are state-of-the-art fat dissolving injectable products designed to treat those difficult localised pockets of fat. Areas that can be treated include a ‘double’ chin, the arms, abdomen, flanks, buttocks, inner knees, thighs and back or bra ‘rolls’.
Depending on the area treated and the amount of fat involved, several sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.
In line with similar injectable treatments like Aqualyx®, the active ingredient is Deoxycholic Acid, proven to reduce fat deposits for the right patients. The product is conveniently separated into a face and body concentration and side effects are minimal. In addition, DESO is known to result in much less swelling than Aqualyx®.
When treating the body localised fat is reduced and skin firmness is improved. When treating the face, drainage of excess fluids takes place as well as reduced localised fat amounts.
DESO BODY and DESO FACE fat dissolving injections literally “dissolve” stubborn areas of body fat. This could be the non-surgical treatment you’ve dreamt about but didn’t know existed. Or, maybe you’ve heard of it and need some more information. Keep on reading.
This procedure can target and dramatically reduce areas of stubborn fat on both the face and the body. It has revolutionised body contouring without the need for surgery. With a series of injections and with a course of treatment sessions, fat will be reduced.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DESOFACE® + DESOBODY®?
DESOFACE® is designed for the face, whereas DESOBODY® is designed for the body. The concentration of the active substance within the products differs to offer a customised, safe result.
HOW IS DESO BODY/FACE DIFFERENT?
DESO BODY/FACE are the newest body fat dissolving injection formula available on the market. It contains the active ingredient sodium deoxycholate (deoxycholic acid) which is a special, medical detergent FDA approved to break down fat cells and have been shown to be safer, more effective and more comfortable than other, older fat dissolvers on the market such as AQUALYX.
Where can we inject fat-dissolver?
Fat-dissolver can be used in the following areas:
- Double-chin
- Abdomen
- Flanks
- Saddlebags
- Inner thighs
- Inner knee
- Arms
- Back rolls
- Gynaecomastia
How many sessions do you need?
Two to four sessions 4-6 weeks apart are expected for best results.
Is fat dissolving painful?
The procedure is performed under topical anaesthetic with Lidocaine 10%. Pain is frequent following the procedure but generally do not limit a normal social life or physical activity.
Is there a risk of bruising?
Bruising is frequent, transitory and should be considered a normal consequence of the treatment. Also, you may notice some temporary reddening of the skin, or itching, but this is normal and will gradually reduce over a few days.
In addition, fat dissolving injections work by causing an inflammatory reaction, and therefore you may experience some swelling for up to 5 days post treatment. This is a good sign as it means that the fat cells are breaking down. This is usually mild, and can be controlled using cool pads.
Do feel free to take painkillers if necessary but avoid anti-inflammatories. These can cause blood thinning and increase the risk of bruising.
How long does it take to see the results?
The solution will dissolve the fat cells, which then undergo degradation and absorption by the body over a length of 4 - 6 weeks. Therefore results can take several weeks to become visible. Two to four sessions 4-6 weeks apart are expected for best results.
How long is the procedure for one area?
The length of the procedure depends on the size of the area. One large area can take up to 40 mins.
How long the results last?
This purely depends on your lifestyle. Fat cells could regenerate a few years later if you have a high-calorie intake and sedentary lifestyle.
What fat-dissolver do we use?
We use DESO BODY and DESO FACE fat-dissolver which are licensed for double chin and body fat.
Things to Know
Please be sure to drink at least 2 litres of water in the days before your treatment, as well as for two weeks afterwards. This is quite a lot, however, it will help your lymphatic drainage system to clear the fat from the broken-down cells.

- Avoid Aspirin for pain to reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding. Paracetamol is acceptable. Intermittent cooling with ice can be used by applying for 5 minutes post-procedure. A simple fan can also be helpful for discomfort.
- Bruising may occur. Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds and heat therapies during the treatment period.
- Avoid hot baths and showers (tepid water only) for 5 days.
